Moon Eyebrow Sugar Factory

Located in Houli, Taichung, Yuemei Sugar Factory is now a fun tourist spot that takes visitors back to the glory days of Taiwan’s sugar industry. It originally opened in 1909 as the "Dajia Sugar Mill" during the Japanese era. Later in 1919, Taiwan Sugar Corporation took it over. Back then, sugar was a huge deal—it earned a ton of foreign exchange and was one of the key drivers behind Taiwan’s economic miracle.
As times changed and the industry shifted, sugar production here officially wrapped up in 1999. But the old factory didn't just sit there—it got a fantastic makeover into a fun, educational park for everyone to enjoy. Today, you’ll find cool exhibit areas covering everything from sugar production to TSC products, along with pretty riverside trails and a koi pond, making it a great place to hang out with the family!
