After hearing the stories, grab a little basket and enjoy picking your own mushrooms! Since it's all indoors, you don't have to worry about the weather. Just pick whatever fresh mushrooms you like and pay by weight—it’s super affordable.

Besides mushroom picking, there are tons of fun DIY activities. You can pack your own "space bag" with sawdust to grow at home, or even make your own mushroom pizza. When you're tired, you can try some freshly grilled mushrooms, a weekend-exclusive mushroom hot pot, or a rich Lingzhi tea egg. The farm even has a sweet reward for kids: just bring a 100-score school exam, and you can get a free mushroom growing bag!   • Xiangshan Bike Path

Located right by Sun Moon Lake, the Xiangshan Bike Trail is the absolute best and most popular section of the whole lake loop. It was even named one of the "Top 10 Most Beautiful Bike Paths in the World" by CNN! The coolest part about it is how close it is to the water—it literally feels like you're riding right on top of the emerald-green lake, with gorgeous, postcard-like views the entire way.

The trail usually starts around Shuishe Pier and goes all the way to the Xiangshan Visitor Center, stretching about 3.4 kilometers. It’s pretty flat with barely any steep hills, making it a super easy ride for everyone, whether you’re with kids or just not that into working out. Plus, there are plenty of wooden boardwalks and viewing decks along the way, so you’ll definitely want to pull over and snap some photos of the scenery.

There are a few awesome highlights hidden along this path. You’ll cross the "Yongjie" and "Tongxin" bridges—two beautiful, all-white curved bridges that are super popular for wedding photos. Then you’ll hit the famous Shuishe Dam, which has a railing-free wooden path that gives you an totally open, unobstructed view of the lake's beautiful shades of blue. And right before the end, there’s the Xiangshan Cantilevered Viewing Platform. It’s a steel structure that sticks right out over the lake, where you can feel the breeze, look straight down at the crystal-clear water, and enjoy an amazing 270-degree view.
