Glass Mazu Temple

Work on the Glass Mazu Temple started back in 2007, and after years of careful construction and safety testing, it officially opened to the public on March 31, 2012, with a special opening ceremony attended by the President.
This one-of-a-kind temple was built using advanced local glassmaking techniques, blending traditional culture and religious rituals with modern technology and ecological design. The team behind it set out to create a peaceful sanctuary for people across Taiwan while helping boost the local economy. It stands proudly as the very first temple made of glass in Taiwan and the entire Chinese-speaking world!
